vikendi.com - Portal for weekend tourism

Internet portal Vikendi.com was created in late 2005. under the original name Vikendi.net. The idea was born at a time when there was no internet portal which provides comprehensive information on the offer of weekend tourism in Croatia. Our goal was to provide a different way to the emphasis on quality and variety of this kind of tourism, with special emphasis on rural tourism, eco-villages and holiday resorts in Croatia.

Construction of the project consisted of two parts: creating the software for the Internet portal and collect relevant data on tourism in the country. Software development for the portal lasted several months, but the filling, updating and maintaining the database is a work that requires sustained commitment.

Getting Started Portal vikendi.net sparked great public interest. Attendance has been growing rapidly since the internet users have recognized the quality and potential sites.

Eventually the conceptual shortcomings of the original version of the portal has come to the surface. In late 2009. started the development of entirely new applications that will solve existing problems, conceptual errors and improve visitor impression. Portal is based on a completely new software and experienced a visual transformation. The appearance of the portal follows today design trends, with special emphasis on ergonomics and interface to gain visitors positive experience.

The new version of the redesigned site was launched into operation in late March 2010. This new version introduced multilanguage - Croatian, English, German and Italian. Multilanguage user interface and all input data has led to the portal and visitors from abroad.

We also developed a mobile application, "Weekend in Croatia" for smartphones that allows quick and easy access to information about nearby tourist offer.
