All requests for tags from the PLC's web applications are sent to SCGI server that reads data from PLCs and return it back to the web application. In addition to reading and setting the tag values, SCGI server contains a datalogger and datadigger modules.
Datalogger module is responsible, in accordance with the configuration, for the periodic reading of the tag values from the PLCs and storing in a database. Datadigger periodically performs an analysis of the collected tags and calculates the necessary values for subsequent reporting.
Solar Web application
Solar Web internet application is a CMS system that allows the user to fully customize the representation of desired data from solar power plant. The tag values from the PLC's are shown in real time in a given element - a string, numeric value, bargraph or as a form input field values.
Archived data collected by a datalogger are shown in the form of ordinary or cumulative bargraphs.
The application is designed and constructed so that it can run smoothly even on shared hosting, in our case, on the shared hosting plan of Webfaction hosting company. Solar Web applications can be seen at solar-cybro.com. Currently it monitors the work of a dozen solar power plants.
